Federica Mogherini, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-president of the European Commission has voiced on Saturday in Algiers her “satisfaction” with the level of partnership forged between Algeria and the EU, dubbing it the fruit of a “very intense and positive” work.
“I am extremely satisfied with the level of the deep, intense and very positive partnership we managed to build over the past years,” she said upon her arrival in Houari-Boumediene international airport of Algiers, for a two-day official visit.
The EU foreign policy chief added that her visit to Algeria aimed at “further intensifying and deepening” the partnership relation between Algeria and the bloc, notably in a certain number of fields.
Mogherini said that she would discuss with the Algerian officials about the regional situation and the bilateral cooperation in all the realms.
“This is my second visit to Algeria since the beginning of my term,” she said, recalling her meeting with State minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Ramtane Lamamra, a few weeks ago in Brussels for the Algeria-EU Association Council.
