President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune affirmed Thursday that the State continues its move aimed at overcoming the social effects of the Covid-19 pandemic through measures to protect the citizens’ purchasing power.
In an address read on his behalf by Prime Minister Aïmene Benabderrahmane, on the occasion of the festivities marking the 66th anniversary of the creation of the General Union of the Algerian Workers (UGTA) and the 51st anniversary of hydrocarbon nationalization, held in Hassi Messaoud, President Tebboune reaffirms his commitment “to continuing the efforts aimed at overcoming the social effects caused by the Covid-19 pandemic and providing support to our brothers and sisters who have been affected, while making sure that the public authorities implement rigorously all the measures and provisions aimed to guarantee social protection and protect the citizens’ purchasing power.”
President Tebboune paid tribute to the sacrifices of the workers at all levels and to the memory of the martyrs and the pandemic victims.
The Head of State hailed UGTA’s honorable positions in defending the country’s interests in all its phases.
