President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika has been designated by his African peers as the Coordinator of Africa for the fight against terrorism, Tuesday in Addis Ababa, on the occasion of the ceremony of the handover of position between the outgoing and incoming commissions of the African Union (AU).
The ceremony took place in the presence of Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal in his capacity as personal representative of President of the Republic.
The announcement was made by the incumbent chairman of the African Union, President Alpha Condé, before the members of the Bureau of the Conference, in recognition to “the personal and renewed commitment” of the Head of State in the fight against international terrorism, as well as Algeria’s significant and known contribution to the international mobilization on the fight against this scourge.
This trust is a “strong testimony” for the policies that he led in Algeria to stabilize the country and for the achievements made by Algeria in the political, economic and social fields, and thus thanks to the Policy of dialogue, national reconciliation and civil concord.
