President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika on Sunday called on Algerian people to “be vigilant” to preserve the country’s achievements.
“Today, we have to be vigilant and preserve our achievements so that citizens would live freely under democracy,” said President Bouteflika in a message marking the Victory Day (19 March), read on his behalf by the Adviser to the Presidency of the Republic, Mohamed Ali Boughazi.
“This democracy allows our children to pride themselves on the achievements made in a climate of peace and security,” stressed the Head of State.
“Peace and security were recovered and preserved owing to the sacrifices and the maturity of the (Algerian) people, especially the units of the People’s National Army, the worthy successor of the National Liberation Army, security forces, national gendarmerie and police, who are ensuring the security of the country and citizens,” added President Bouteflika.
“We reiterate to them all, officers, non-commissioned officers and soldiers, our gratitude and we pay tribute to the memory of the martyrs of national duty,” concluded the President of the Republic.
