Prime Minister, Finances Minister, Aïmene Benabderrahmane, launched on Thursday the commissioning of “Badji Mokhtar III” maritime passenger vessel, whose first crossing will take place next Monday to Marseille (France).
The “Badji Mokhtar III,” the latest vessel acquired by Algerie Ferries, arrived in Algiers port on 5 August after leaving the shipbuilding yard in Guangzhou, China, in early July.
The vessel, the result of the first collaboration between Algeria and China in shipbuilding, can carry 1,800 passengers.
It is equipped with 3 rear doors and can load 600 tourist vehicles.
Moreover, it contains 12 decks with a total area of over 20,000 m². It also includes more than 500 passenger cabins and almost 100 crew cabins.
Dining areas, duty-free shops and other entertainment venues will be available to passengers.
