President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune called Friday on young Algerian people to seek a better training and to go, effectively and with determination, into a high level of creativity and discovery, while committing to “our scientific patriotism with a high level of vigilance in relation to the changes facing the world today.”
In a message marking the Day of Knowledge (April 16), President Tebboune called on “our young people to seek a better training,” to “open up to inter-civilization communication and to commit to our scientific patriotism that must remain at a high level of vigilance in relation to the changes facing the world.”
The president of the Republic emphasized the need to work “against the defeat of thought and to open up positively to languages and civilizations, to master the use of modern technology.”
He also called on the young to “go, effectively, with determination and rational critical thinking, into a high level of creativity and discovery, in line with the development process in our beloved country.”
“We must seize the opportunity of the Day of Knowledge for remembrance and as a pause to draw lessons, a catalyst for awareness, a stimulus to contemplation and a path of reform and revision, through authentic understanding, noble and balanced thinking and moderate reactions,” president Tebboune wrote in his message.
In so doing, they “will follow the path of the Association of Algerian Muslim Ulama and the commendable efforts of the sheikhs and imams of zawiyas, who have been working in every corner of the country to make of those institutions the citadels of education, spiritual and civilizational radiation, and a bulwark of national identity.”
President Tebboune said that by commemorating this glorious anniversary,
“Algeria celebrates the tremendous and pioneering achievements made in national education and higher education, as significant strides have been made in terms of (educational) construction and investment, since the recovery of national sovereignty in 1962.”
